Earlier this year, The King’s School became a Direct Licenced Centre for the running of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
We are pleased to say that 55 students in our current Year 10 cohort have stepped up to the challenge and are currently undertaking their Bronze Award. They must work on developing a skill, a physical activity and also complete some work as a volunteer before completing an expedition later this year. Here is just a flavour of the kinds of things they’re doing: volunteering as a young leader at local Guide & Scouts groups, trampolining, creative writing, fencing, cooking, learning a musical instrument, volunteering in local charity shops.
Our current Year 9 students will have the opportunity to sign up for the Bronze Award following October half term.
