Year 7 Storybook Competition
Over the past few months, Miss Groves has been running an exciting literacy competition, where students in Year 7 were asked to create an engaging adventure book aimed at Year 6 pupils. Every group took part and the teacher then chose a winner from their own English groups; the winners then participated in a ‘Storybook Showdown’ where all 7 groups competed against each other to claim the prize of ‘overall winner.’
The winning group were then invited to Waterton Park Hotel with Engaging Education, where they would compete with 7 other schools within the Wakefield District and claim the overall prize of a glass trophy, certificates for each member and their own book created and published! The girls did EXCELLENTLY well and WON! The girls were fantastic and everyone is incredibly proud of them.
Well done Katie Rogers, Navay Kaur, Maizie Cooper- Mahon and Hannah Walker! Talk about flying the flag for King’s! Engaging Education, WDH sponsors and Literacy Executives were all super impressed with the girls’ effort, dedication and overall presentation, and said how high we set the bar for the other schools!
